Hey there everyone!

We are on the plane on our way to Kunming!!!!  Our travel plans were changed because we get to get Mia Monday morning @ 9:30 am, that will be 8:30 pm on your Sunday night!

Today was a great day. We started it off by attending an awesome church service at an international, Christian church. It was so surreal to be in worship with people from all over the world.

After service, we toured a pearl factory. It was actually a blast. The tour lady had a great sense of humor and the sales people were really sweet to all of the kids in our group. The kids spent some time teaching the sales people the English words for things that they wanted to know. They had a hard time with the difference between cheek and face. They loved the words ear lobe and belly button. It was priceless to watch.

After lunch ( not really sure what is was) we went to The Summer Palace. It was an absolutely amazing place. It is nestled between Kunming Lake, and a beautiful mountain range. There is a boat about 200 ft. long, with two decks, that is made completely out of marble, that served as the docking area for the Emperor’s real boats.

Livy did not enjoy this part of the day. She was frequently being asked to have her picture taken with people. At one point a few of the ladies were grabbing her and trying to get her closer to them. I grabbed her back and we left the area very quickly. She was pretty scared after that, and to be honest… I was a little bit too. Once we cleared the crowd, we put her hair up into her hat and had no problems the rest of the day.

It was really nice to tour Beijing, and see some of their prep work for the 2008 Olympics, but we are more then ready to get to Kuming and get our little girl! Just about 14 hours to go. I can’t decide if I want to laugh, cry or get sick! My stomach has been in knots for days now, but we are all sleeping well because they run us ragged to help keep our mind occupied until gotcha day.

Hope all is well. Miss you guys!

Oh! Happy birthday Alli!!!!!

Love,

Claire

8:52 here on Sunday night, I rushed to my computer to see if you posted anything. We are so excited for you, and I know you are holding her RIGHT NOW and getting your first look into her eyes. How precious! We can't wait to see pics!

Thanks for the Happy Birthday for Allie :-) Can't believe she is 14.... We missed you that is for sure, but we had a great day playing paint ball. We found the perfect place- will fill you in later. Not so important right now... getting that little angel is top of the list! I just shudder when I think of all the emotion, love, time and energy went into the time waiting for her, and NOW is the time you are getting to hold the one you have dreamed of for so long. We are praising God with you!
